Big thanks to John and all the locals at Shoreham
As it was high tide at Hayling a Group of us from Zero G made the trip along to Shoreham (Darren, Kieren, Dan, Lewis, Adrian, Royce, Andrew, Karen and myself)
As it turned out when we arrived all the locals were out already enjoying the conditions
so it was up to us to do the down winder, we all jumped into the Zero G bus and set off up the coast to Lancing not a long way about 3 miles but as it was our first down winder it was long enough
The tide was high with a medium shore break a sizeable swell out the back and 18 - 20 knots
everyone set off ok with me bringing up the rear to pick up the pieces a few board rescues one deflated kite two half way drop outs but apart from that everyone else made it.
When we got to the end every one was all smiles the biggest triumph was Karen and Dan the least experienced of the group, Dan suffered the deflated kite and had to walk the rest but would have made it easy, Karren who is just getting up wind sussed made it all the way, she was exhausted but very pleased with herself.
Afterwards we all retired to the pub for a well-earned drink
A very worthwhile trip next time Stormriders do this we'll be back
