Hi all,
Recently joined the club I really enjoy the spot and find most riders very friendly and from various horizons.
On a day like yesterday 23rd of September, a lot of riders were on the water. Various levels, styles and speeds. It was a matter of time before an incident occurred. Nothing serious I'll begin with, in fact quite the happy ending.
the rider before me (30m) initiated a jump without checking his surroundings, the trick was daring but the landing could be improved. He wipes out and his kite lines just got crossed with mine... Arrgh! I stop immediatly, check if he is ok and with good spirit I inform of my attempt to get my kite out of the way. Very appologetic he keeps his kite on the water but on the wind window so I can maneuver my kite out. A little bit of body dragging and we're free. I stay to check If he can get his kite up, looked like it flipped. Too bad. I remain on standby kite in the air to signal other riders that lines are in the water. The other rider is cool, he tries to get his kite up, and up it goes, lines are not crossed, the incident could have gone much worse.
this was a good experience, to deal with an issue with calm, cool and friendliness. As opposed to another rider who pestered like he had been stripped from the perfect ride because he had to go downwind from me, being rude and totally uncool about my mistake even though I oppologised. Dude, I think you should get your issues off the spot and learn to be flexible especially when the spot gets busy like yesterday.
just to say thumbs up to guys who make the sport cool no matter what and the hell with the others (especially I did not see the club's binding on foulmouth boy).
To the next riding session,
GreyNico
