Hi guys, I'm pretty new to kitesurfing and the area, just wondered where exactly people go in Langstone Harbour when its a Northerly wind? Gotta be high tide I guess?
cheers

Hi there, Kitesurfing in Langstone Harbour and Chichester Harbour is not allowed and you'll have the harbour master chasing after you if you try. If you want to get out during a northerly then your best bet is to hop onto the hovercraft from Southsea and get over to Ryde on the IoW. Ryde has a lovely big sandy beach and its an easy stroll eastwards from the hovercraft terminal. However, the wind is often a fair bit stronger once you get away from the rigging up point on the beach and and also beware of drifting into the hovercraft terminal and pier in a easterly. Apart from that its great!

Thanks for that. May have to check it out over in Ryde this week.

Is Ryde suitable at high tide for a beginner if I walk further east?
If you ever want someone to go to the IoW with I'm usually available during the week?
